界首民间艺术种类丰富多彩，戏曲发展尤其兴旺，豫剧、京剧、评剧、花鼓戏、黄梅戏、淮北梆子等广泛流传。受民间戏曲影响，界首彩陶装饰题材一部分源自戏曲人物和场景。最具代表性的刀马人刻花装饰图案就是以卢山义为代表的彩陶艺人于20世纪50年代以当地戏曲故事为内容大胆创作、精推细敲而成。

Jieshou boasts a rich variety of folk arts, with opera being particularly vibrant. Genres such as Yu opera, Peking opera, Ping opera, Huagu opera, Huangmei opera, and Huaibei Bangzi opera are widely performed. Influenced by these folk operas, some of the decorative themes in Jieshou's colored pottery are derived from opera characters and scenes. The most representative "armed horseback figure" pattern was boldly created in the 1950s by pottery artists like Shanyi Lu. These decorations were inspired by local opera stories and meticulously crafted.
